+ ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re a small product studio shipping web and desktop software for clients and our own products. This role owns the Electron layer: reliable installs, updates, performance, and native behaviors users expect on Windows and macOS.
You’ll work closely with product and design with a product-oriented mindset — proposing trade-offs, spotting edge cases early, and caring about the full lifecycle after launch.
+ WHAT YOU'LL DO
- 01Design, build, and maintain Electron apps with TypeScript and React — shell architecture, IPC boundaries, and secure patterns.
- 02Integrate Chrome and OS-native capabilities where it matters: filesystem, notifications, deep links, auto-update flows, and installer behavior.
- 03Improve stability and performance: startup time, memory, crash diagnostics, and meaningful logging.
- 04Own release mechanics: versioning, build pipelines, code signing, and staged rollouts so updates land safely.
- 05Collaborate on CI/CD for desktop builds and automated update channels — from PR checks to production releases.
+ WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 013+ years shipping production software; meaningful hands-on time with Electron or comparable desktop stacks.
- 02Strong TypeScript and React — comfortable owning features end-to-end in the renderer and main process boundaries.
- 03Experience with Chrome-related native APIs and desktop constraints (permissions, sandboxes, packaging).
- 04Product mindset: you clarify requirements, propose sensible defaults, and ship iteratively.
- 05Hands-on experience shipping app updates — CI/CD, installers, auto-update, or release trains.
+ NICE TO HAVE
- +Electron Forge or similar packaging and distribution tooling.
- +Code signing, notarization, and store-adjacent release processes.
- +Experience instrumenting desktop apps for support and analytics.
